Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Vim Flow ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily use Vim Flow for personal, non-commercial use only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • Modify or copy the materials
  • Use the materials for any commercial purpose or public display
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in the Service
  • Transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" them on any other server

User Accounts

To access certain features of Vim Flow, you must create an account using your GitHub account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account
  • Promptly update any changed information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

User-Generated Content

Vim Flow includes user-generated content through:

  • Leaderboard rankings and scores
  • User profile information
  • Lesson progress and completion data

By participating in these features, you acknowledge that your scores, rankings, and profile information will be publicly visible to other users of the Service.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service:

  • In any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law
  • To engage in any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting, or any similar activity
  • To transmit any advertising or promotional material without our prior written consent
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Service, a Vim Flow employee, or another user
  • To engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service

Leaderboard and Competition

Vim Flow includes competitive features including but not limited to:

  • Global and filtered leaderboards
  • Weekly, monthly, and all-time rankings
  • Achievement badges
  • Streak tracking

We reserve the right to remove or modify any scores, rankings, or achievements that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be the result of cheating, exploitation, or violation of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Vim Flow and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. VIM FLOW MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE OPERATION OF THEIR SERVICES, OR THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, OR MATERIALS INCLUDED THEREIN. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THESE SERVICES, THEIR CONTENT, AND ANY SERVICES OR ITEMS OBTAINED FROM US IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL VIM FLOW, NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vim Flow and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Service, or b) a breach of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
